Rescuing a Swimming iPhone
A friend jumped in a swimming pool forgetting he had his iPhone with him. The poor little critter (the phone) did not take to well to playing submarine. I posted a question to the ICCM (International Conference on Computing and Mission) maillist and got back some great suggestions. I'll post them here in case your phone ever takes an unwarranted bath.
Well, I saved an ordinary cell phone (LG, I believe) some years ago by drying it manually as best I could, then placing it with the battery out and the battery cover off in a car sitting in an August, coastal Virginia sun (but out of the direct sunlight) for an afternoon. The phone worked for several years afterward. (The phone had been in the pocket of my swimsuit underwater in a lake for about half an hour.)
God bless!

Or leave it on the dashboard of your car with the windows rolled up. Anything that applies low levels of heat will do it. You could also try another approach to make it happen faster and more effectively if you have some 90+% isopropyl alcohol. Send it for a swim in there, the alcohol has a lower surface tension than water, so it gets into more places more easily (to get to trapped droplets of water), and it has a strong affinity for water, and it evaporates a LOT more readily. The few mL of water trapped inside will turn into an even smaller number of mL of alcohol trapped inside, and will evaporate off a lot faster. Expose to some heat that would be uncomfortable for you, but not so hot that things get warped or melted (ie 125-150F) and in short order it will be dry inside.
YES!!!
Put it in rice for 3 days sealed.
DON’T PEEK!
It MAY come back.
I got about 95% functionality back.
Then I went to the Apple store with my sad story and threw myself on the mercy of the GENUIS BAR.
They gave me a new one!!!
PTL!!!!!
Leave it in an electric oven on the lowest possible setting for about 30-45 min. Do not let it go above about 150F.
I left
a washed Ipod in rice on top of my fireplace for 4 days.
Works perfect

I received 1 st mortgage loans when I was a teenager and this supported me a lot. Nevertheless, I need the consolidation loans as well.
